It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 4/8/13

Today the Boys and I are linking up to a meme hosted by Shelia at Book Journey as well as Jen and Kellee at Teach Mentor Texts.  It's called: It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?  Check out both of their blogs for many, many, more wonderful book recommendations and links to others who are doing the same.

We have taken a bit of a hiatus from blogging, but we have continued our reading.   Since our last post, C.J. has read:

Mom has read:
Looking for Alaska is by far my favorite John Green novel.  Dare I say... it is even better than The Fault in Our Stars...??  It is a tough call, because they are both fantastic, but Alaska is my personal fav.

Three Times Lucky is a great middle-grade mystery.  Mo, the spunky main character, is a young female lead whose smarts, bravery, and tenacity shine throughout the story.  Self-appointed as detective, she and her best friend Dale solve a local murder and discover the truth about their families and themselves in the process.  You will laugh and cry your way through this book.  It will touch your heart.

Set in Dickens-era London, Dodger launches himself up from the sewers when he hears a young woman scream after jumping from a moving coach.  After coming to her rescue, he finds himself in the midst of a political scandal that only he has the cunning to resolve.  With special guest characters Charles Dickens and the notorious Sweeney Todd, this story will put you right into the mix of muck, luck, and wit that is the one and only Dodger.

What are you reading?
